Okay, after about 4-5 weeks of fishless cycling my tank reads 0 for nitrites FINALLY, after remaining at 0 for about a day (24hours) i did my big water change to remove the nitrates...after i got done refilling tank and adding WC along with the added water, i did another check on all my water parameters and Ammonia-0, Nitrates-0, pH- around 7.6 and my freakin Nitrites are OFF THE CHARTS!!! what the heck!!! i mean is this normal RIGHT after the tank has cycled and maybe testing as soon as i got done fillin didnt give the filters time to handle the nitrite or what? i really dont know bc i dont my Fishless cycle by the books but apparently i did something wrong...HELP ME!!!!

kinda discouraging knowing i messed up somewhere and dont know what i did :( so please no flaming

ok, i just checked my tap water and it read 0 for both ammonia and nitrite and did another check on my tank this morning and it read 0 for ammonia and nitrite was still high as it can possibly be....could it be my filters? i dont understand bc my AC 110 is BRAND NEW and i was told to do no maintanance on it while cycling, is there something i should do? BUMP

Im going to guess that your first stage is complete - ammonia to nitrite. Your next stage nitrite to nitrate hasnt set inyet. Someone else here will correct me if im wrong but I think you just need more time

well thats why i did my large water change bc my nitrates were really high sooo... the HIGH nitrites came after i refilled my tank and tested all params once more
