When mine ebjd was little it was darker than yours, I bought it because I was wondering what it would look like when it got older.
If you search my threads you will find other pictures of my ebjds. I had a white sturgeon before. It made it to ohh around a foot maybe a little more, then the tank broke and leaked into the basement. I had to put my sturgeon, rockbass, and walleyes into a tiny tank and it died do to either poor water quality or stress. I fed bloodworms and pieces of fish filet when it got bigger friend has the walleyes a his pond same with the rockbass when I got more into tropical fish.
The sturgeon will never sleep, I was wondering if it was like a shark needing to swim to breath. The only time it would stop was to pick up some food off the bottom. It is also pretty entertaining seeing a sturgeon try and catch and eat a live rosy red, they are pretty uncoordinated.

Ya, from what I read they need to swim to breath. I hear they get pretty strong from it, too. I guess thats why they're such a good gamefish.

When they get big, they are actually pretty lazy and will lay around for hours at a time (but still swim most of the time). When they are this size though, they never slow down. The most unnerving thing they do is the "death spiral" they do at the surface at night. Any other fish, you would think it was going into seizures and would be dead within the hour, but with sturgeons it's normal

Death spiral? Sounds weird, ill have to look for it tonight.

Barrel roll, usually right at the surface. I've never seen another species of fish do it if it wasn't hours from death, but I've seen many healthy baby whites do it

Hey, do you think it willl eat baby mollies or guppies?
Right now hes eating thawed bloodworms and SOME prepared food.

Your stugeon looks like a sterlet. They are sometimes sold as whites, but the scute pattern is different. Also, they don't get anywhere near as large as whites get. Most sterlets in aquariums don't get over 2-3'. You'll need to keep the water very clean and cool...max temp around 65 better around 55. Put some sand in the tank too. They love to root around.

Almost forgot. They like strong current, and really need a large tank as they get bigger. Smallest reccomended is around 180gal. or so.
