Subforum is named wrong

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How about we use the term awesome fish instead?:D

Ancient refers to a time period in history.
History is the record of past events and occurrences.

primitive is a discriptive word used when referring to the developement of animals, or objects developed by animals.

Since Polys have been around longer then humans, they existed before "history" and therefore cannot be classified as Ancient.

but you can not call them primitive, they still preform the same as other fish so it isnt like they are less evolved then other fish.

maybe the sub forum should be called Prehistoric, rather then Ancient and Primitive...

If you wanted to use a tool of measurement to discribe this fish. Prehistoric would be more fitting.

I beat you ha ha :p

i dont think they can be called primitive ,they are old, not dumb, and many are much more efficient hunters then some of the more 'modern' fish out there

As long as we change the name of the poly forum to "dinosaur eels" :)

Alot about ploypterus is primitive like said they have changed little for millions of years and have takein on simple designs like there simple lung enableing them to gulp air for example

Primitive would be most accurate
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/primitive

prim·i·tive (prm-tv)
adj.
1. Not derived from something else; primary or basic.
2.
a. Of or relating to an earliest or original stage or state; primeval.
b. Being little evolved from an early ancestral type.
3. Characterized by simplicity or ....

Polys may have had prehistoric ancestors, but that does not make them prehistoric. So refering to them as such would be as inaccurate as ancient.
