I literally just removed my tan gravel earlier today. I did a good gravel vac on it and then used a net to scoop it out into a bucket. For any small pieces left behind I used the hose from my gravel vac and sucked it out with that.

well i appreciate all the help everyone, the substrate change is mostly done, please let me now what you think i have posted before and after pictures, i also added a pvc fitting for a new possible breeding ground

I always prefer the look of sand substrate over stone. Looks like you also covered the back of the tank which helps a lot to improve the look. Much better in my opinion...good job.

yeah i wanted to darken up my jd's and overall just have them feel more comfortable and they seem to love the new design, gravel just looks so bland in my opinion, thank you.
