Success!!! First spawn

Woke up and noticed my male festae was all barred up today. Decided to take pics. Figured something was up when they both tried to come through the glass at me. This is their fires spawn together and my second pair of cichlids to spawn this week. They always said there's something in jersey water lol. She's still laying eggs now n male is fertilizing amazing to watch

Ty all, def will post more pics once fry hatch. Been a long time coming I've had the female for over two years since she was about 1.5" got her from a member on MFK. the male I got from the shark aquarium when he was about 3.5"

Glad the investment of time finally paid off. Now you'll have more festae then you'll know what to do with. My pair dropped their tubes yesterday also and the female was trying to entice the male into the flowerpot. Role reversal I suppose.

Some of the eggs weren't fertilized properly but most look pretty good. I guess the male will get the hang of it next time they spawn should be ready to hatch in few more days
