good job going to try it with mine getting tired of the trips to lfs though I will never tire of watching the hunt
My Gar takes dead fish out of my hand ever since I starved him for 3 days.
He still comes up to beg every time after eating the one fish.
He passed the 12" within 3 months that I,ve had him.
And is still growing rapidly.

OK, update.
Today the little guy (not so little now push 8.5inches) ate some chopped up prawns/market shrimp when I was trying to feed my bichir.
He was still eating out of the tongs so he was still associating the tongs with food, which is good. He used to spit the prawn out after he chewed on it a while but today was the first time he actually at the prawn.
So the little guy is currently eating chopped up fish fillets, prawns and white bait.

Mine was 6,5 " when I got him.
He just started taking mealworms a week ago.
Yesterday I tried some pallets for the other fish, and my Gar even ate those now!
But I love the handfeeding the most.
And I won't complain if he bites me sometime soon.lol
