8 lb sucker? :bs:
unless it was a world record
:screwy:

Some species of redhorses get that big. And they can easily be lumped with "sucker" so if it was one of them i could see it. The wisconsin record for silver redhorse is 11lb 7 oz(which is the world record), and the world record for greater redhorse is 9lb 3oz.
So it could be possible.

Yeah suckers do get up to 8lbs. I got 12lbs greater redhorse sucker on wall. Blue suckers do get huge up to 18lbs or more and so are Chinese highfin suckers. Buffalo which is actually sucker get up to 80lbs but not common. A 8 lbs white sucker is pretty rare but we do have a Minnesota record white sucker weighted 8lbs while 6 pounders are pretty common, especially spawning time.

Bottomfeeder, you need to study on fish more.

And heres my 6 pounds white sucker I caught last Sat.

One problem is that there are different species of redhorse suckers, you dont say which species of redhorse.
