Suction cups for moving bigger tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is something I didn't think about. Will these grab a tank pretty good without sliding off?

You crisscross them underneath so they can’t slid anywhere:) They are great and so worth buying. We bought them originally for moving our washer and dryer when we moved house 5yrs ago. And they have been used many times since.

Oh ok. So you make an x under the tank. I was looking at northern tool and the length says 4ft then says 9ft.

Do you think they will reach over 6ft to criss cross?

The straps themselves are 9ft long so as long as both people have decently long arms I think it might work. I can’t recall the longest thing we used them for.

But there are other types of moving straps that can be used too. The ones pictured are just the ones I have.

I would get three 4' straps and use the 3rd to tie the two lifting straps together. Could probably just slide the lifting straps through the loops in the 3rd strap. This would prevent the lifting straps from spreading or sliding.

When we moved my 220 we just picked it up bare hand. Me and a buddy we were able to move it by our selfs. You should be ok, if your nervous have a extra 2 guys around, but going through door ways you can only fit two men anyway.

I know I can pick it up, but its my help I'm worried about. All I have is him and his 13yr old son. It's mainly a plan b. It's in a warehouse so I'm not sure what's in store for us carrying it out.

Is the tank glass?

Just get a roll of duct tape and some wood for handles, and add handles to the tank.

Cost: $4 plus some acetone to wash the glue off later.

No, not the ones I have anyway. Here is a picture of the ones I have. They are a life saver and really cheap.

My son and I have used these to move 6’ 125 gallon tanks. The weight is distributed way different using these. Really easy. I initially bought them years ago when they first came out to move a heavy 60” projection tv. We use them for anything that even looks heavy. Lol!
