Hi guys

I'm looking at getting a couple of stingrays, i've been keeping fish for years, currently have Discus and oscars and a flowerhorn.

Tank I have for the stingrays is a 8x2x2 and will have a sand bed for them. Filtration is one fluval fx5, now I am wondering will this be enough? I will be setting up a DIY drip system to drip at 1gph with an overflow out into the garden.

That in mind will the FX5 provide enough filtration to do a pair of rays for a little while? I do want to set up a sump later in the year for them.

Stingrays im looking at are a Motoro/leo hybrid.

Be nice :)

I have got another one here but it's a bit dodgey.. pump seems to cut in and out, it's a brand new fx5.

Also with sand color.. what color is easier to see the stinger in when it drops off?

id say another fx5 and when you say dodgy fx5 you realise the turn off for 2 mins every 24 hours to prime itself.

Haha yeah i'm not that silly. No it sounds like a car running out of fuel coughing and spluttering, the hoses shake up and down but its only intermitent.
