Festaes are Red Terrors, Mayans are Mayans. people are to anal over this.
The reason that I explained the difference between Festae and Mayans is because Insanity0x1 asked for an answer to that question. It wasn't to start a debate in the naming of the species. But honestly, there are plenty of threads on here about people seeking Festae but receive Mayans because they refer to them as Red Terrors. I was just answering a question and hopefully helping another member from making a mistake. I don't think that it's anal to be informed.

Thanks guys. I was wondering why I never see severum babies or even eggs! I might look into the T-bar cichlids or convicts. I'm looking for some active fish and my severums floating around in the same place all day isnt doing it for me. I'd love to keep a pair of big cichlids like the ones I posted but I cannot afford to upgrade in tank size. It will be many years before that happens.

Look into Firemouths (T. Meeki) as well. I just stocked my 55g with 6 juveniles and they are great fish to watch. They usually reach a max of about 6".

all those fish are too large to breed in a 75g, i would suggest getting rid your silver dollars and sailfin pleco and see if they start to breed, even though you do well on water changes have you checked what the actual nitrate levels get to between changes? plecos are poop machines, im not sure how large butterfly plecos get but sailfins get huge and i now mine is almost crapping constantly,

as far as other suggestions you could do a carpintis or JD pair males only get about 10in (possible to get larger but not common) and females would get to about 8in. either way i would still get rid of you sailfin at the very least these guys can easily get around the 2ft mark so a 75g just isnt adequate

+1 JD or Carpintis

Keep butterfly pleco well fed and get rid of the other. Butterfly's stay around 5" max. from what i hear. No need for any more. Pleco's are pooping and eating machines.

I got the silver dollars to lower the aggression of my severums. The female would constantly bully the male for the longest time and I did not know why. At that point the only things in the tank were the 2 severums and my catfish. I am attached to my plecos so not getting rid of them. My sailfin has barely grown in the past 2 years so not worried about that right now. If I get rid of anything it'll be the silver dollars. Not too excited about them.

Before my severums I had a firemouth with some green terrors. He was incredibly aggressive so I got rid of him. I'm sure it was just that one though.
