I've kept a group of those guys for years. They are so very thick. Never a problem with uneaten food accumulations at the bottom of the tank. The Red Tails are active day and night.

I have the same experience with my eos and morleti. After a few days whatever was at the bottom disappears.

Out of all the scavenger species I've kept over the years, Botia Loaches are by far the best. It's amazing to me that Loaches aren't a more common topic on the forums.

This was Ted. About 2/3 or 3/4 grown in 310gal 7' long tank. When he got irate and darted across the tank. 7' was just enough.
