Suggestions for stocking 55 gal Mbuna tank

thats cool. i believe that but you won't believe this...... my juvie male maingano (only 2 inches) is the king of my tank. He has the dominant colors and everything. he is even dominant over the red zebra i have that is fully grown (at least 5- 6 inches)

Thats pretty wild. My red zebra can be a brute when he wants which isn't too often though. It would be funny to see him be pushed around by a 2" fish!

i dont think my zebra is in good health. He seems to have signs of being very stressed before i got him. i'm sure me setting up the tank only made that worse on him. his color is pale, he has whitish throughout his body showing stress (not ish, don't worry). I need to dose the tank with salt tomorrow to help reduce stress. i think the fact that he lost his territory isn't helping matters. now he has a 2' maingano pushing him around. who wouldnt be stressed with that?

As the Red Zebras grow older, they can fade in color. I dunno if maybe that could be the reason. How old is he?

i dunno. i'm not even 100 percent its a zebra, but it appears to be. you can see pics of him in my albums. i got him with the tank and the guy that sold the setup to me only remembered it was an african. not much help there
