Some other suggestions to yahoo :P

Exodons are like mini piranha, keep in a species tank with 9 or so specimens:

Horde of avocado puffers:

You could get 4 pictus catfish with some medium sized mid dwellers if you have the proper filtration:

Or a pair of middle sized cichlids like sajicas:

Which is stranger, snail only tank or pleco only tank?lol I still keep guppies in my snail tanks due to mosquitoes slipping in and trying to breed.:nilly:

lol that's a smart set up ^ ^, and your a loach specialist right? Is it true that clown loaches get along really well with tiger barbs? Also that they can even join the tiger barb "school"?

Tiger barbs will get along with any botiine loach. Clowns do tend to follow anything with similar markings.

Sorry, but you can't mix those speicies. The puffers are notorious nippers and like semi-brackish to brackish. Exodon are also biters. They would work in only specie tanks. A peacock eel or a tire-track eel with a pictus would work well. Also, you could probably add large (3-4 inch) rainbows. Any smaller and the eel would most likely eat them.

Thanks for the info Lupin and you too Midas- i think you just gave me my tank residents XD ill be seriously considering Peacock eel and pinctus with larger sized sharks. Also, doesn't the Tire track eel grow pretty big? i believe i read that in one of the threads somewhere in the eel section...

No to the tiretrack eel- too big for your tank. Any of the sharks you want will grow too large, assuming they are balas as none grow smaller than 8"

I thought balas were regular sized and in that case, what about iridescents? are they smaller or bigger than balas? i saw what i believe were fully grown iridescent at my lfs and they look 6"-ish

Iridescent sharks grow larger than 2 feet. Bala sharks grow 1 foot.
