Hi guys looking for a catfish to go in a tank with peacock bass, would like something that Doesn’t hide all day and doesn’t grow as big as red tail catfish etc. But also big enough not to fit in the bass’s mouth.

If you don't mind spending a bit of cash for a fish, I'm suggesting tigrinus catfish or lince catfish. But vulture catfish works too... Or you could get some pimelodus sp. catfish. Those are active even during the day.

Not sure I'd suggest a lince, little is known of their max size, afaik the last theory made growth dependent on the variant with the smallest getting 2-2.5' and largest I believe gets to 3.5'. Pretty sure DB's lince is over 2' by now. They need should be treated like a paroon in the sense they don't stop swimming

That's a convoluted question. Pbass too vary in size from 1' max (kelberi?) to 3' max (temensis). And their growth rate varies. Catfish growth varies too. So the balance is not a simple sure thing at all and will require revaluation from time to time.

For smaller pbass, active / non-hiding cats would be sun catfish and Pimelodus blochii or Pimelodus ornatus come to mine as well as vulture catfish as mentioned, bolt catfish, schilbe catfish, ompok, tig as mentioned, bullheads.

For larger pbass, perhaps iridescent shark catfish, tiger shovelnose (they are all garbage-genes fish and don't exceed 2' by much), marbled Pim, sailfin marbled Pim, TSN x marbled Pim hybrid, really too many to mention in the Pimelodidae family alone.
