So my boss at work is a moron and has a group of full grown exodon's in with an 8" fly river turtle - I'm bent out of shape over it, but what are you gonna do when the guy who pays your rent is a know it all.

Anyway, I'll be coming across an FRT pretty soon here - and I want to find suitable tank mates.

I really like the idea of ray's, but I'm afraid the temperature differences, coupled with the chance of the FRT getting stung if it knocks into a ray are too great.

I'd like larger fish, but I'm trying to steer clear of aggressive ones. If anyone has any suggestions they'd be appreciated.

I'm currently considering a school of clown loach, a "special green" arowana, and a bunch of different bichirs.

Please chime in with your suggestions - could I keep a pleco species such as vampire, which are not inclined to suck on glass or shells?

How big of a tank are we talking about? How about some Tinfoil Barbs. They can get a foot long and are pretty darn quick and active. I doubt a FRT could catch one.

Thanks for that link, guess I should dig around more.

We're talking about a 180 gallon tank - but after reading through that other thread I won't be doing anything worth more than 20 bucks.

Probably just a bunch of red hook silver dollars and clown loach, or somthing similar.

Giant gouramis, silver sharks and other bigger cyprinids sould do as well:D

I've got a red aro, a dozen discus, and a couple of rays.

No trouble so far, but everyone is still young with the exception of the discus.

I agree with the other posters though, keep expendable fish until you know whether you have a killer or a pussycat.
