I have a convict breeding setup with 4 pairs already. I'm more lookin for something to eat food that makes it down the overflows. Not stuff that's tiny. I can vacuume that

If you want a living garbage can, nothing fits the bill better than a catfish. Not sure anything that lives in a 20 gallon is going to be big enough to do a whole lot of eating, though.

Really? Your so smart.

He is saying that most fish wont make your sump clean without making another mess. Cleaning is the best option and then ghost shrimp.

I wasn't looking for some miracle self cleaning sump. I just want something to catch and eat the 2-3 pellets worth of debris that makes it down the overflow.

I dont think many if any fish will be suitable,

I would consider shrimp, crayfish , or snails. For several years now I've intentionally introduce snails to both sumps and canister filters. Great additions break down those bigger chunks that make it into the systems. In my next Sump I was thinking of adding a/a a couple crays in the first section to clear debris, probably a self cloning one so i can cull the babies for feeders and have replacements if some die!

Hope that helps.

The only issue I have with crays is they are escape artist's. I have overflows running to that chamber.
