sump/overflow question

I totally agree with you. If it can keep the tank at a constant temp it's not big deal to just adjust the heater accordingly. How much wattage would be needed to heat a 125 gallon tank?

yes.

It's not exact. My sump is 2 to 4 degrees warmer than my tank. But who cares. I want my tank at 80 so I set my sump heater to 84.

To me it's worth it, the fish can't break the heater when it's in the sump. And I don't like the look of the heater in the tank.

agreed. i did the same thing. also, when i do WC. i just fill the sump, and let the heater run for a while before i turn the pump back on to the display. makles WC lot easier IMO. but then again, the sump i just built is almost the same size as the display. lol.

What does wc stand for? I'll be picking pcv piping up tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it all done and fill the tank up.
