sump vs. Fx5

I think a canister would be way more silent compared to a sump. No experience in comparison though.

sump is definatly more noisy, if you minimize the amount of bends in the pipe to your overflow that will help. also if it gurgles some putting some airline tubine down the pipe from the sump until you find a sweet spot helps. I just got a new overflow from lifereef and really like it, keeps it prime without a pump
