im a bass master, not rele, but no sunfishermen, but heard they tasted good? So after seeing 1ft long sunnies in a remote stream on a pretty remote lake, i want to a. get some good fish to eat, b. possible world record fatty, and c. have some fun. So, what kind of rod/reel outfit and lures should i use. i bassfish, so livebait is not an option ;)

Use an ultralight setup with 4-6 lb. test line. Use small hooks and a normal bobber/ or slip bobber as a strike indicator. There are many baits to use and some include earthworms, meal worms and crickets. Artificial lures include small crankbaits, small spinners, and flies. Hope this helps and good luck.

thanks. i was thinkin of a basspro shop 1 1/2" tube bait for crappie, sunfish maybe? But dont know how to rig it?Or i will use a small 2 1/2" floating trout worm from basspro with a weighted head so the tail sticks up and brings attention. But the next problem i have is my kayak. Bone stock, need better gear, so far got an anchor, mount w/ 2 rod holders and possible 1 fishfinder. and thats it :(

OMg definately, almost 4got about those, thanks!

The same plastic worms you use for bass should work for sunnies. I've had two inch sunfish hit 2.5" worms. Yellow and white seem to be good colors.

FYI. Bass -(LMB and SMB) are classified under sunfish. There not true Bass. Large sunfish, but still sunfish.

when all else fails just use some crickets or earthworms as bait, never had any problems here with that, other than dealing with the oscars and uros mixed in with sunfish
