Sunfish with a Sengal Bichir?

What if I were to release them back into the pond I caught hem from once they hit about 6 inches?

You can give it a shot but pay attention to your bichir, like i said i had them in a 150g with lots of places, and greens will become aggresive if the space is to small.

You really don't want to but them back into the pond once they are in an aquarium, and saying that on this site you will get alot of grieve.

Thanks for the tip Ive gotten the info I need. I may just go with a native tank or not bring home any sunnys at all.

The only sunfish I'd like in my tank would be a Pumpkinseed.

Another question - How would I get rid of parasites if I decided to go with Sunnys?

Just isolate them and use the standard medicine that is used on all fish.

Ive that combo in two tanks for over a year, one common in a 75 with larger natives, one albino in a 40 breeder with smaller sunnies and darters for about the same, No problems at all.
