Out of curiosity, how often do you pull apart your filters for cleaning? If your nitrates are consistently at 20+ ppm a nitric acid buildup might be contributing. Unfortunately, I think that aging your water or using neutral regulator might be your only options. A lot of people use Rubbermaid trash cans for this.

i have 2 aqura100 and 1 fx6 and when i test for ammonia it shows .25 or .50 of ammonia in the tank. so after some research people say its low for the bacteria to survive or grow. after that i tried using crushed coral and raise the ph and now it don't show any ammonia in my tank.
This effect can be offset by adding extra oxygen to the system. The higher oxygen levels allow the aerobic bacteria to work more efficiently.

once every 2-3 month. my nitrate is not always at 20+ after water changes and waited 2 days so the prime wont affect the test it will show 5-10ppm. the 20 ppm is in the mid week.

ok after today water change with ph buffer 7.0. my jardini did not have any of those syndrome. will update this after a few more test.

Well I can tell you for sure the carbon is doing absolutely nothing after 2-4 weeks, and it needs to be replaced every 2-4 weeks, so cleaning the filter every 2-3 months might be a big part of the problem. Not having chemical filtration in your tank will certainly cause issues. Try sticking to every 30 days

why would he need carbon in his tank? Unless he's removing meds or tannins? I don't run carbon in ANY of my tanks ever lol.
