Hey guys got a few sunnies from the lake is it normal for them to be tired out and just laying against the sand, figured there stressed out from the catch or can something else be wrong?

75 g for now till i get my 150g up, im guessing there stressed, yes tank has been cycled tested everything was fine, but i just caught them a few hrs ago so prob tired, i also notcie when the light is off they swim around like mad, then i turn on the light they all drop to the bottom lol, know what that could be?
I just really hope that it is just stress i had a couple sunnies 2 weeks prior in this tank die but when they died i tested all the PH levels ect, and they were fine, the LPS said it was prob from shock because i just throw them in there without letting them sit in the bag with there other water and letting them adapt to it, this time i let them adapt so we will see hopefully they live, if these ones die i dunno what to do, i need some real help if they do because no 1 is really giving me any right answers yet

Oh, geez. They're probably scared as heck. Leave the light off for a day or two and get them lots of hiding places and floating plants they can disappear into.

Ammonia should always be 0. NitrAtes are kept low by understocking, feeding lightly, plants and water changes. You might be thinking of nitrItes, which should be 0.
They may go a week or longer without eating. Don't even try to feed them for the first day or two. Then offer food and remove it right away if they don't eat it. Earthworms are a fine transitional food for wild caught fish most of the time.
And try to reduce your lighting. Whatever it takes. Use a desk lamp above the lid for now if you have to. Sunfish are typically very shy and like the shade, you know, for surviving and all.
Once they settle in, they should become very friendly and greedy, but give them space for the first few days for sure. They have yet to figure out you aren't a predator, I'd suspect.

U must have scared the crap out of them, mine ate the same day I put them in the tank, they had no fear, they also took a 25 mile ride in a minnow bucket before getting put into their tank.

hahah yea well knife, during the day i have been opening the shades like today to get them used to a night and day cycle, is that okay or should i jsut leave it pitch black
