Sunsun's any Good?

Was it disclosed that this product is not in the original packaging? If not, I would definitely make a stink. At the very least demand a 20% refund.

All 3 of mine came in the box pictured above.
 
Amazon. Listed as NEW. No disclosure of anything. I looked it over really good and it does not show any indication that it was ever used. All bags were sealed. Light works. I will probably just go ahead and use it just because a return is a hassle.

I will definately raise some foul air though with the seller. I am thinking this was a display unit or maybe the retail package got damaged. Either way I will see if I can get a discount.
 
They told me that that was they way their supplier packs them. I replied back that and told them that Manufacturers pack their products. Not suppliers. And that manufactures pack thier priducts in retail packages. I said I was concerned that he or his supplier was selling Rufurbished product as new.

I told him I wanted a discount for NOT RETAIL Otherwise I was going to send it back. And I WILL send it back. We shall see what they say.

Yea I am starting to feel very strongly that these guys send me a return or a refurbished unit. I noticed it was starting to develop a slight buzz. So I decided to do my Sunday water change and check out the impeller as well. You know actually give this thing a full inspection.

So I give the impeller cover a quarter turn to release it and lift the cover up. The impeller stays in the unit and sticking out of the impeller cover is about an inch of ceramic rod. I pull out the impeller and about another inch of ceramic rod falls out of it. Looking in the impeller cavity it appears that there is still a third piece of impeller rod in there.

So I put this thing back together and I am going to return it ASAP. But it still works and I need a replacement, and I have plenty of time. So I am purging this thing of air by tilting it back and forth and water is coming out of the side. If I tilt it 45 degrees sideways and shake it a little bit water pours out the side. LOL

It came in a plain brown cardboard box, the impeller is broken and it leaks. No wonder most of the price was for the SHIPPING. I am going to get another one but this time I will pay the extra price and get if from AMAZON or at the very least someone that offers free shipping!!

Ohh yea I almost forgot. The seller's return police says that not only dont they refund shipping cost but all returns must be in original packaging with UPC codes in tact and everything!!! I got it in a cardboard box. I am definately gonna do a visa chargeback if I dont get ALL my $$$ back. And if they want their unit back; they can send me a prepaid shipping label.

Rant off.What a PITA.

The seller has replied to every email quickly less than 24 hours. "Sounds" genuinely apolagetic. and asked for pictures of the box and damaged impeller so that he could process a replacement.

OK. I sent him the pictures I had plus took another one of the broken impeller.Also I said that even in the FAQ on Amazon for this product the question was Does it come in retail box and the answer was yes.

Said if he doesnt intend to send a working replacement in a retail box then dont send anything. If I got anything less I would go straight to claims and if necessary do a VISA charge back.

And of course I kept every word positive and PC whilst letting him know that either he uphold is end or I TAKE my money back. I have only had to do a VISA charge back once ever but damn it was literally one phone call and they immediately credited me my money. Keeping said $$$ was contingent that I write up a letter to them describing my issue.

Anyways I have high hopes that Rising Loong will fulfill their end. If not I simply get a different supplier. Maybe your Ebay guy.
