How did you cycle it though?

And just so you know, im not picking on you (just incase it seems that way) just trying to see if we can find what may be causing the problem with your fish...

I guess a better question might be do you know what your water parameters are?

Can you also help us help you by letting us know what fish you put in the tank?

How big is the tank?

Did you add all of the fish at the same time?

It looked like you had a cat, some silver dollars, and was the ray in there to?

Just normally cycle? Leave it on ? Cause previously I've other fishes inside too

Not trying to be rude, but does this sound like how you set this tank up?

1) bring tank and equipment home

2) setup everything up and fill tank with water

3) add fish straight into tank right after filling it with water?

Or was step 3) fill tank with water and let it run for 3 weeks before adding fish...

If you did run the tank for 3 weeks with no fish inside, did you add anything to the tank at all? I.e a source of amonia or something other than just tap water?

Your either supposed to have the tank running and put some goldfish or small fish in to get the bb growing. Or fishless cycle you add bb from another tank or buy Cycle and add some clear ammonia, wait for ammonia to go away and for nitrate to spike, do a wc and voilà. If you just put water in and left it for 3 weeks nothing probably happened. Check ammonia and nitrates most importantly

Fat. I did the correct step. Let me just ask you. What's the correct way of adding new fishes to a comm tank?

Either you seed a new tank with existing filter media from an old tank to kick start the BB growth or you do a fish less cycle for a few weeks by feeding the new filters with a food source to grow the BB and start the cycle..

And to be honest, i have a sinking feeling this tank may have not been cycled properly causing the problem... I would strong advise getting a API liquid master test kit to check your parameters...
