Super Red Salvini - The Quest for the Holy Grail

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If the NLS ultra red will not colored up, nothing will. It is unlike any quality pellets including other NLS formulation.
If you decided to give it a try, please keep us update on the results. And if you can take a before and after photo to share.

I can definitely give it a try.

My guys are used to the 3mm Xtreme Aquatics pellets, but 2mm should be close enough. They usually totally ignore the 1mm pellets I use for my smaller fish.

Glad to hear that male got back in shape and is ready to breed

yeah! I upped his feed after separating and he got all caught up in growth. he's picked up the monster attitude he was missing before xD

I'll get some new pics up sometime. The female he's with has turned her colours up to the max. I will start increasing blood worms a bit (usually just once/week I do the frozen ones) to help them condition for eggs.

happy to report a successful spawn of c. salvini "rio chacamax"!

I will get some real pictures with the fancy camera tomorrow, for now I snapped a couple blurry ones with my phone. they're very small, pictured with blurry photo of the mother who was angered by my approach to the glass :D

it's the pairs first time spawning but they appear to have good instincts. took over about half of the 120g tank.

any recommendations on beginning delivery of food to the fry? I was planning on leaving them with the parents, in the large tank and seeing how it goes.

I always left mine in with the parents and they done fine.
My male used to bring food to the female while she watched over fry and I'm guessing she fed them.

It was amazing to watch how he collected food and then went and spat it out in front of her.

Sounds horrible but I used to let them do all the work get the fry to the size I wanted them and then I'd take them out. It stared getting annoying for me as they were breeding near enough every 4-6 months and they are beasts when there protecting there young.

thanks guys!

and nice looking male Crix, his forehead is nice and yellowed up - mine is still a little dark in this area, hopefully he can brighten up as he continues to mature.
