What would you suggestGreen terror cannot hybridize with central American cichlids. Red mammon isn't a fish you can just buy at pet stores. You wouldn't want to use one anyways as males are sterile, and your fish already has fading genetics so you don't need anything mammon would bring with breeding...
Green terror are one of the possible fish used to make brighter colored Texas cichlids. Why wouldn’t it be able to breed againWhat would you suggest
Gts are not used to make any hybrids. They are unable to hybridize outside of genus being South American cichlids, same for chocolates.Green terror are one of the possible fish used to make brighter colored Texas cichlids. Why wouldn’t it be able to breed again
Didn’t know that. I’ve always heard they used gt for hybridsGts are not used to make any hybrids. They are unable to hybridize outside of genus being South American cichlids, same for chocolates.
Carpintis are likely used to make bright Texas, as they are a bright blue fish.
Carpintis would be a good option for a partner because the two are closely related and the carpintis would bring lots of blues in the offspring. Essentially an unfaded red Texas.
Aquatic Aggression makes a good point that by breeding with anything that has Midas genes, you aren’t really doing anything for color as all of the color genes were already passed on.
I’ve heard of gt x convict, but that’s a convict do anything goes lol.Didn’t know that. I’ve always heard they used gt for hybrids
Why give them such similar names ?. Not too good when it comes to cichlids with the same name it gets me confused. But yea I’m probably thinking of festaeI’ve heard of gt x convict, but that’s a convict do anything goes lol.
You may be thinking of red terror (festae). They are one of the few SA cichlids that hybridize readily.
