If you are using foam under the tank, you should calculate the proper foam density. For an acrylic tank that has a full-contact bottom, you need VERY LOW DENSITY foam. The pink foam found at HD & Lowes is way too stiff; it would not compress at all, therefore offering no protection from an uneven or twisted stand.QUOTE]
I didn't used the pink foam I used the regular old white stuff. The foam did compress in a few areas more than others. I beleive this was due to leveling the stand which made it twist slightly, I think. I still can't figure that one out. The stand and tank are now as level as I can get them. The water level is off by 1/16 of an inch from one end to the other. The tank is up and running and has been for about 2 weeks. I've had zero problems with the tank or the stand. the only problems I've had are noise problems. I'm now on my 3rd set of stand pipes and have finally got the tank quiet. I don't think I can get it any quieter considering the amount of turn over this tank has. Here's a couple crappy pics of it set up and running.
