Vegas were great in the 70's and 80's...stuff I've seen out of them recently is garbage, on par with Yamaha.

A friend of mine had a pair of 12 inch vegas back in the mid 90's. sounded 100 times better than some other 15s he also had.

I haven't really shopped for or looked at audio in about 10 years. my equipment serves me well. I do need to upgrade to a better dvd player and a 7.1 receiver here in a bit, though.

need to update my knowledge...

I've got an old pair of 15" vegas that my father owned in the 70's I believe, they could be from the 80's...they kick like a mule.

its almost impossible to wear out a set of quality speakers. unless you use an underpowered amplifier and distort the hell out of them.

a friend of mine's dad had a set of original Bose 901s, from like 1972 or something. they still sounded great in 1996. that's what got me onto Bose. I went cheap ($800/pair), and got the 701s though. now I wish I sprung for the more expensive (1200/pair) 901s.

whatever, though. they're quality.

i will agree on klipsh systems.. the guy at best almost sold me on a surround sound set up but i wasnt going to buy it for my pos tv this year ill be on the market for a new set up but my buddy works for a high end audio company and can get me things at cost

im thinking vienna speakers :D

I haven't looked at Klipsch in a while but back when I first got into audio the Klipsch cornerhorns were where it was at..... Granted WAY out of a normal kids price range they were still the cats meow. Saw them at a high end retailer and incredible doesn't describe them. Wow have things changed...... Klipsch apperently now is just "so-so" Bose rules the world and Vegas are now junk???? WTF? Well regardless of everyone's opinions I know my next set of speakers WILL be Vegas. http://www.cerwin-vega.com/CLS215.php Ran off a monster Carver. Will still need housewreckers for the low end but I'm sure with over 1k watts the Vegas will hammer a lil bit....... I guess after rockin a Cerwin Vega Stroker 15 off 3K in a Citation I became a lil partial to Vega. Still have a pair of 15 home speakers that I love.... Just wish I had the 400watts RMS they need to truley come to life..... However occasionally in the summer we have lil get togethers outside with a keg and tunes. I bring the Vegas and a buddy brings Carvers.... Bridge 1 carver (300 watts bridged) on each speaker and it's amazing how differently the same speakers sound.

LMAO @ the link^^^........... Garenteed "Eviction notice" performance........
