I took a three day trip down the Suwanee River from Fargo GA into Benton FL. Saw lots of gators and not a single other person. I have now made it my goal to canoe the whole river in pieces. Anyways, here are some pics of the trip. I know they are not the best but I am still learning the settings of the camera.

looks like a fun trip., where are the fishes?!?!?

well, the water was too dark to see any of them. I did see a southern toad eat a small pike that had become trapped in a shrinking puddle. I also went paddling at night to get up close to some gators. Saw a ton of eye-shines but was only lucky enough to get right up to a few of them. None of the pics turned out since it was so dark.

gators have the small prey mentality. That is, they do not attack anything larger than what they can generally eat in a few bites. So no, they will not attack a human unless it has learned to associate humans with food through people feeding the gators or if they are defending themselves or their territory. I occasionally go and catch them with friends. It is quite lot of fun.

ps. dont worry, we have all the permits needed and never hurt any of them unless we are taking blood and scale samples for DNA testing and even then, they are patched up before being released

very niice place

See any Suwannee bass? They are endemic to that system
