No those are geophagus brasilensis, though I did move my breidorhi to the tank today.

nice silvers and blacks, that 15" looks so tinny with the rest of the gang.
how long it took for the bigger black get to 25", trying to get an idea how long I have until my 3" one out grows my 180g

My bigger black may not be a good example of growth rate. I got it at 11" and then over the next 2.5 years it only grew 7-8" but it was a very picky eater. In the last 9-10 months that is has been in with the silvers, it turned into a much more aggressive eater. It has grown 5-6" in that time.

The smaller black i got a year ago at 2-2.5" and now is 15".

Very nice! I’m a big fan of your blacks. I also would like to know how long it took to get to such a large size.

doesn't the grow slow down after it reach certain size? I'm hoping I can get maybe 2-3 years in the 180g.

That is awesome! Whatever you are doing you’re doing it right. Please share your maintenance and feeding routine. You have a WD sump underneath?

i have seen they tend to slow a 24" for the silvers...i think it is around 18" or alittle more for the blacks...i haven't grown a black out yet, i'll let you know what my growth is on this black i am getting, as i have fast silvers, maybe i can get fast blacks also...
