zombies anyone?:nilly:
I still have my baseball bat and red ryder...

I don't get what the big deal is, really. All the hype is just causing mass hysteria.

From what I've read, it's a new strain of flu, but it's no worse than regular seasonal flu.

It's not incurable, we have anti-viral medications (oseltamivir and zanamivir, cited from the CDC website) which not only eliminate swine flu it, but can prevent it as well.

The only people susceptible to death from the flu are the same people susceptible to dying from regular flu, which includes the very young and the very old (those with weak immune systems).

Seriously, people need to calm down. When I read in the news about places shutting down I ask why? Why don't we shut down every year during flu season?

The only precautions we need to take is to carry around travel size bottles of hand sanitizer and throw it at the head of anyone who sneezes into their hand and carries on like it was nothing, and when they look up at you all pissed off, just glare at them and shake your head side to side. :grinno:

I just wish George Carlin or Richard Pryor were around to see this 'outbreak' hype. They easily could've spun some great lines off of it.

My local news has a menacing theme song for it...lol They get all "I are serious"

lol I'll know it's really out of hand if I'm banned from the SoCal mfk meet for being mexican. Think I'll go and sneeze and see if anyone freaks lol

oh n0es!! It's teh brown flu! :nilly:

Too much mass hysteria.....no worse than the regular flu. It generally effects the elderly, young kids and people with high risk auto-immune diseases. They are the worst at risk of dying. I have type 1 Diabetes and I'm suppossed to get the flu shot once a year, but everytime I did and still ended up getting the flu anyways. It's been two years without a flu shot and I haven't gotten the flu once that seems kinda @ssbackwards.

yeah so a friend of mine works in a hospital... and there have been quite a few swine flu cases (this is in northern NJ) and no one really knows that it's occurring there, personal of the hospital are instructed to "not mention" the cases and apparently the vaccine for it is a lot of money or something and not a lot of it's available

wonder what's going to happen..
