I will look for the green clown goby if any stores carry them, never seen them in stores though.

I'm having issues with my Rio Nano Skimmer, it makes a lot of noise, and only quiets down if I keep my finger on the Venturi tube...

I'm really digging the watchman too!

Ok, I called a store to see if they had any small gobies and whatnot. They said they had a blue spotted jawfish for 90 bucks. Is this a decent price? Are they for noobies such as I?

Check the connection the intake tube and make sure its seated in there correctly. The pumps are magnetically driven so if there close to correct for fit they will still spin, but may make a lot of noise. If its just a cheap brand that my be all you can do. Just see what makes quite and see what you can do to manipulate it a bit.

The blue Spotted Jawfish is not a bad price. I havn't seen them lower then 85 a pop. They are a bit sensitive and as long as your water is pure and clean you should not have any issues with them. IMO its best advised to keep them in larger tanks because of the pristine water they require. I do believe you can keep one with you current setup and one thing i may recommend is having at least 3-4 inches of sand and a bit more rock then you have. Just place a couple more smaller pieces along the bottom of the tank.

Is it true they only live a few months in captivity?

I dont honestly know. Im sure a lot has to do with the food they receive and water there kept in. Most of the info that i have read about them says they are a hardy fish once addapted to the aquarium. As with most jawfish keep only one per tank.

good to hear. the brown algae will subside after time and then do a water change, test the water and then you should be good. Im glad to hear all is well. keep us posted.

Water must evaporate much quicker with salt than fresh. I have to top off like every other day. Also, the protein skimmer, isn't skimming anything? I don't see any foam or anything like that.
