Hello,

I am very new to this forum (this is my first post). I have been googling for information on my catfish and sucker fish and came across this! I live in Australia!

I have two catfish and 2 sucker fish and I cannot for the life of me remember the names. I was hoping you guys can help me out. I only bought them and few weeks ago so they are still young and about 2 inches long (cats) and 1 inch (suckers). How big should I expect them to get??

I have just ended a very bad streak too...I just lost 3 Electric Yellows and 3 Electric Blues in the space of a week :-(

Anyway here are my pics

yes keep them coming... great synodontis ...all of them..

Hi,
You are right with the first one. The suckers are Bristlenose Cats. I went back to my fish shop to pick up my tank hood and had another look. Aparently the Bristlenose grow to about 12cm and the others 15-20cm.

Here is a photo of my completed tank and the new toy I just had to get them hehe. I am very happy with it now.

Thank you! I am very happy with my efforts, it's my first fish tank too!! I only have one issue and that is with the light. It's a single fluro but it seems to generate a bit of heat, just thinking of a way to minimise it.

I have also been googling info on fish that I would like to add. I have no idea, except that I would like colourful ones!!

Anyway thanks for everyones input!

synodontis go great with lake malawi african cichlids which are hardy and extremely colorful... and very active...but the ghost knife would not do well with them..you have a beautiful set up... and your knife will grow wonderful with out the additions... my ghost knife is 17 inches now...impressive.. so take your time getting info and in the meantime everyone will thrive..and i am sure you will eventually find all the information right here...even the light issue you should start a thread about it in aquaria discussions forums and you will receive alot of info from people who have experienced the same issues...
