Those are stunning fish! Do you find they do well in a group? I've never kept that species, but I've always had good success keeping similar species in groups. They seem to be much more comfortable than when kept singly or in pairs. Do you find the same to be true?

No problem. The black is developing nicely around the throat, the fins are edged with a little red. I have four fish that have paired, but no spawnings yet. Have they started to get any black edging on their fins and throats? I had a pair that when extremely pissed or wanting to breed they would get black on their fins and throats. It looked hella awesome with the yellow. Great contrast!!

The group seem to tolerate each other well most of the time, other times the 2 pairs will gill flare each other. There's never any aggressive chasing, only stand offs. I personally think these fish would be more comfortable in a group, if kept in a tank 4ft or more.

T. pasiones is by far one of my favorite Thorichthys.. Nice looking stock... I have been to CA on two collecting trips and have yet to get any... would love to egt ona waiting list for fry...

Thankyou. One of the members on our forum was lucky enough to get a couple of wild T. pasionis. The catch location was Laguna de Xbacab. Not sure if they are male/ female though. These fish are Laguna Noh.Riftlakes;3324138; said:

Have you noticed that their pectoral fins are elongated as well?! Its the oddest lookin thing, but still very very cool.
