Table saw of death - (warning gore inside)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Quite a recovery. I remember in shop class my teacher explaining if the blade hit flesh it would stop and retract to prevent injury... but wasnt willing to prove/test it lol

Ya lesson learned for sure. To top it off he still owes me my paycheck from 2 months ago

What Dbag. Please tell me you work somewhere else now? Nice recovery by the way. They did a good job putting your finger back together.

They do work. We blow a unit and blade once every couple of months. Usually it is from people forgetting to turn the safety off while cutting metal laminate. Had one guy blow one saw stop up. Went to the other one and did the same thing a minute later.:banghead: If I remember right it will cut about an 1/8" deep and the whatever the blade width is by the time it trips. Better then taking a whole finger off.

Definitely work somewhere else lol. Yes I got very lucky, very happy to have all my fingers:) not much nerve damage either. I'm going to have to sue him for this and a couple other things he pulled. I got a week off work and he demanded I come back. Which sucked because it was - 20° and the cold hurt my injuries worse than the initial accident. But was back to welding, fabricating and not using the table saw! Pretty a. Aging how our bodies repair themselves.

Had surgery on my finger last week. Not as gory looking as the your pics, but still grotesque. I chose to have this done so that my finger would function better.

1 1/2 years ago I fell about 12 feet and a large boulder broke my fall. I have had residual deficits ever since, which hopefully the surgery has corrected.

Can this just be a general gore thread? Some sick part of me finds this amusing lol. Wish I had pics of my finger slash, but all I got now are pics of my frankenfingers which required something close to 100 stitches(mostly inside repairing tendons)

why the hell do I keep coming in here?

crap! it's like a traffic collision that you pass by. you just have to look

any saw get you, I was a roofer for 26 years, I had a skill saw with a faulty switch and was doing a shake hip, had the cowling pinned back, I got 5 courses up and turned around to start working it up the hip, i pushed my scrap to the side and a shake hit the switch on the saw, saw stayed on, went over my ankle and chased it self off the roof. 9 months in a cast.
