A wild dog is completely different from a domesticated dog. Put a domestic dog in the wild and the wild dogs will kill and eat it. So idk where your really trying to take this debate

Same goes with wild and captive snakes. Most snakes sold in pet stores are captive, which they shouldn't have much of a problem eating dead.

I think by now captive snakes should be able to eat dead, just like captive dogs. You mentioned " didnt buy a boa to completely remove it from its natural instinct/environment" Well many captive dogs have changed their instinct and environment why can't snakes?

Live feeding should be done only out of special necessity.

Any snake or reptile that accepts pre killed or frozen should not be fed live.

Beyond that it is a danger to the snake. Have seen several very damaged snakes by panicked rodents.

Feeding live for show is a bad personality trait, in my opinion.

1: thats the owners choice if their willing to risk damage to their pet.

This statement makes me sad. We could just apply the same logic to dog-fighting; "hey its the owners choice..."

Or we could take responsibility for providing the safest and best environment for the animals we choose to keep.

Indeed, several snakes and lizards. I never had any trouble feeding pre-killed rodents. Which surprises me, how these days people have trouble.

I have troubles feeding dead to some of my reptiles which are only 2nd generation captive bred, even starved a couple but still will only take live and its not my favorite thing to do but its the food chain and i accept it. Its diffrent veiws we all have, and shouldnt get upset at each others opinions.

Never fed my snake for show. But you could see the excitement in her tongue when that fresh smelling rat entered her thunder dome. Im on the top of the food chain. I know i eat slaughtered cows and chickens etc. Death is death. Life is life. Sucks to be on the bottom of the food chain, not gonna sit back and cry about it because rats are smart and have feelings? So sad

That sounds more reasonable than, "OH COOL, ITS KILLING IT!"

I agree with Miguel, feeding live should be an exception to the rule.

Lmao comparing it to dog fighting now? Please dont take this debate into the direction. Like i said in the previous post, a swift flick to the dome will have the rat not even seeing it coming. And for your info, dog fighters arent "owners" they criminals who are sick in the head, their people who can shoot someone in the face and then go home and go to bed. so to even think about involving that into this thread makes me question anything you say.
