I forgot to update this thread! The tank story took a wild turn.
Weeks ago I got a mystery call. Seems as though a guy across town had my tank! It was shipped to his address by mistake (and our addresses are NOTHING alike). He was out of town for a month so he didn't know about the tank. He was able to contact me because my info was on the invoice!
So anyway we talked and chatted. Turns out he's a fish guy and his brother keeps tanks. He thought Christmas came early! I contacted Advance Aqua Tanks since the replacement was already scheduled to arrive.
There's more. The guy with the original tank is a contractor who is currently renovating a house in a pricey neighborhood. The tank was upstairs in a bedroom of the reno! So his boss wanted it out of there since it was holding up their project. Mr. X even volunteered to bring the tank over on his truck. But his boss stuck his nose in saying not to do that since their company would send it back via freight. I tell "X" it was my order to handle and his boss needed to stay ouf of it.
It turns out Dream Tanks was still interested in getting the original tank back. So the plan was for me to do nothing until the replacement arrived. If it was ok they'd make arrangements to pick up the tank from Mr. X. If the replacement was damaged they could arrange to have the original sent to me. So I gave them his information, stayed in contact with "X" and waited. Replacement tank was perfect, so I called everybody and I was done. I could have kept my mouth shut about the original tank and gotten it for free, lol. But I'm not a crook. Tank stays in the garage for now as Patch's (BP) situation has caused me to rethink who's going in it. I have some ideas about that which I'll get into in the main tank thread. And THIS, ladies and gentlemen. is the real tank. 125 gallons actual volume, not model number.
