This is just my opinion, but I'd add some plants and driftwood when you upgrade the tank size. I've seen planted tanks with aros in them before and the look amazing! The sound could possibly be the aro. Fish can be noisier than most people think.

yah just came back from Big Al's and drift wood and plants sounds like a good idea. Welp... Not going to upgrade anytime soon. So I'll leave the thinking for later.
