You did not rinse your sand properly. You will have a cloudy tank for a long long time. If it is play sand, I would just take it out and wash it properly and start all over....
i sorta rushed on the rinsing but still throughly. its reptile sand (very fine quartz no additives) though but lfs said its ok. ima see how things turn out after second blackout then break my back.
