This infighting is unacceptable. I've cleaned the thread up. If I have to do so again, folks will be taking vacations. It's simple, if you have no patience to simply answer a member's question, MOVE ON.

Fx6 will not be enough for that tank with the stock you want.

I run 2 FX5s, both with 3 trays of biomax, on my 220 and 10 mins after feeding the water is crystal clear again. If you forget the stingray, and even the knife, one FX5 loaded with biomax will be just fine. (I personally don't agree keeping rays in anything less than 3ft wide).

You have nearly double the filtration on a slightly bigger tank.
What's your stock?
Zero chance that fx5 creates anywhere near the turnover needed. He's already killed a ray. With his current planned stock, it just shows not much info was absorbed.

A lot more than he has planned; also, don't make it sound like it is hard to kill a ray.

It's also not real easy! They're tough as hell.
I'll agree it's real easy to take em out if you don't pay attention to params and ammonia rears it ugly head. Clean water and stable PH isn't hard to obtain.
Don't make it sound like it's hard to care for them.

and that's for the larger kels. And I have a female which tend to get smaller than males.
Who the hell told you this? I personally like to know. And before you run your fingers on the key board, just look at my threads.

Anyways, a 180gal is to small for a kelberi. Maybe washed upped interbred Bahias or them 10th gen kelberi's from Singapore or Thailand a 180gal may work. But, I'll/we'll still be against that.

As for your stock....meh, your Oscar will bully the bass intill it dies. So your stock would be fine after that. As for a ray in your tank, I would worry about that Pleco sucking on the Rays slime coat.

And it's better to over filter then under filter your tank.

You can take our advice with a grain of salt or don't take it at all. It's your fish, not ours.

Thanks for your input. Looks like we got back on track. And I actually today just about had it with my oscar. He attacks every fish in the tank. Before I wanted to sell him but now I don't care if he ends up in a pan... as long as he's out of my tank.

I'm also getting the FX6 this week, I'm also seeing if I can get rid of my douchey oscar too... Thanks again! And gangster, QUIT IT, it's honestly your loss if you refuse to stop this futile "crusade"...

"The good ol days" were filled with nonintellectual conversation and stupid cliques. The acronym "O.G" and for that matter all the acronyms use(d) in this fish forum and especially the connotations surrounding them are so out of place that it really makes me wonder who has yet to grow up. Quite frankly it makes me laugh every time I see "CREAM" or "C.E", what was this ever trying to establish here? Credibility? Intimidate newbies? Ego? Is this some complex issue?

Good riddance to all those guys who left, they brought nothing but controversy and riled up the mods.

There shouldn't be heckling and banter on a fish forum, this isn't pickup basketball.

R.I.P R1

A sump would be more bang for your buck.

And quit being a baby. Quit crying. There is nothing wrong with heckeling and banter. The good ol days were way worse. And some wonder why all the OGs left. Theres a few around still but most have moved on because the consistency is more like pudding around here these days.

In all reality you can put whatever you want in your 180g. A pack of tetras would suit you quite well ;)
