Does your tank have hiding places for the fish? When I turn on my lights my P's keep swimming around looking for a hiding place. I dont really have any except for small plants I bought at the LFS. Will they be fine? I am worried they may become stressed. I have a 55w 10000k Day light and 55w Blue light. Used to be for my saltwater tank.

I got bunch of fake plants from LFS. They love the covor in the dark or light. Id just like mine to come out more with the light on. Hows that blue light? Is it a moonlight? Id like to use it at night so maybe they will get used to somekind of light always on. My house gets pitch black at night. No light what so ever.

Not sure if they call it a moonlight but its dark blue. It's doin pretty good actually. They come out and just swim around doing this follow the leader thing. For some reason they just keep following each other. At first they would go all crazy just bangin thereselves anywhere, but then after a while they get used to it.

It's not a moonlight it's an actinic bulb used in saltwater to supply nessicary blue light to corals. apparently it really makes reds on fish show up.

Would be waaay to bright for a moonlight the only things that should be used for moonlights are LEDs eveything else is too bright.

the best things for moonlights are christmas light LEDs, cheap and work great but are only available for 4 moths of the year.

I don't have a light and my P's are super active

I believe they are more active with no lights as the water at the amazon is murky water. I think the lights hurt there eyes. I dont really know but mine are used to the lights now and are active, but if you havr hiding spots theyll still be hiding.

^^^^ thats why u should add black water extract and floating plants...
they get used to it and feel natural and ull b able to see there colors in the light because they will become comfortable!!
