So would nocturnal fish swim happily under 400 watt metal halides and a school of silver dollars act like they are 'sleeping' on the substrate at 2 pm?convict94;1388606; said:personally i don't really think our fish have an instinct for daytime hours and most of them are tank bred anyways.
Scorponok;1388494; said:You are technically messing with their natural sleeping/nocturnal pattern and biological clock, right? I think that's cruel.
Scorponok;1386599; said:what do you know about their natural environment? they have fish intelligence which means they don't give a rat's ass as long as they feel safe.

I dunno about that--if I don't get sleep, I go all psychological! All animals need a day night cycle. And heck, my electric bill is high enough! Every light over my 8 tanks are on timers.Scorponok;1388690; said:You think you spot an irony there. But being able to sleep is like being able to crap, a physicaly need, not psychological.
