Well do you want colour or do you want exotic looks?

If colour go for large cichlids. Earth Eaters and Pike Cichlids get along well with my gar.

For exotics, I have cats, bichirs, African Arowana

And a Fire Eel and Dorado along with my FRT

Really? I thought that lungfishes were illegal where you are?

In that case, add Australian lungfish and South American lungfish to your list of potential tankmates. Avoid the African lungfishes like the Plague when it comes to housing them with any other fishes!

Wish I could get an AUL, but that one requires a permit, which like Alex said is only given after they inspect my house(which I do not want).

^ south american are all but unavailable...australian lungs aren't legal unless you get the AVA to inspect your facilities first. pretty retarded, i know.

Michel, how about korean perch? mine's been behaving thus far and i believe madding's also tried this combo - or at least i know he has 3 k.perches.

I'm worried about it being a coldwater fish, and my tanks being very very warm.

If you are looking for something non-aggressive and active, go senegals.
They are also pretty cheap to find here.

Mine swim all around the tank and when its feeding time, it push its face against the tank like a cute dog, asking for food.

I prefer the lower jaws, personally.

U want the jurassic look I guess. Bichirs, African Aro r the best bets I think since rays r out for you.

All top swimmers? I thought u would prefer mid or bottom. Well it will be cheaper than yr Aro but not sure any left by the time u're back. Quite a number of ppl went down to pick them up today

a wolf -fish maybe? ive seen the combo work (on you tube videos anyway) - these dont actually tell you if the combo works long term though.

Won't really consider a gar a top swimmer. They swim in all region.
