Tank Mates for a Erythrinus Erythrinus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You can do the cudas or hujetas. Just pick 3 hujeta and ur set. The cudas will be 4 or more. But watch ur water parameters as more fish added. Wouldn't add the silver dollars. They will destroy plants. Would add like 2-3 bush and 1-2 Polypterus and ull be good. The zones will be set and need to watch ur water.

Ok sounds good, I will do that then. My friend works at a LFS and can get the hujeta for me. I will have to grow them out unless I can order them soon. They have some Delhezi in now, so that will likely be the next fish I pick up. They are right at 2in, my wolf is around 3.5in, havent gotten an exact measurement. Im guessing I should wait on putting them together right?

Btw, he is spending a lot of time hiding so this picture is the best I can get right now. Since I took it, he has darkened up in color a pretty good amount and is showing more orange. This is actually the tank I plan to keep feeders in, it is a 10g, but he will be moving tomorrow into the 75.

Would advise against feeders unless u breed them urselves and treated with meds. Ur wolf will take prepared foods with ease. It's ur choice and ur fish. Just a suggestion. I would put some more decor(driftwood/caves) there asap as u put in fish so they can hide if needed due to aggression. The growth rate is slow for a purple. The delhezi should out on size if fed properly. I think it should be ok to put them together but one suggestion would be be to make a divider in case u need to separate them. Can get an egg rate or acrylic sheet from lowes/Home Depot and get some divider suction cups and ur set.

I am breeding the feeders. They are convicts. I didnt know about treating with meds though, what meds should I look into? Right now in the 75 I have 2 large pieces of drift wood, I plan on getting some plants in the next few days.

Meds only for feeders from lfs. Since ur breeding them then should be ok.

Ok good about the drift wood and plants.

Oh ok gotchya thanks! Ill post up a picture once I have plants and all in it, right now with just the wood it isnt a lot to see haha, thanks so much for all the help!

I know that, the red, and then I've read if there being 3 different species sold as yellow tails, idk of anymore though lol. Maybe you're talking about more that I don't know of, I would assume so.
Don't worry moe....not worth getting into cause it's too hard to identify each one. They are rarely imported. Cannot tell except for collection points as a key.

So I got him moved into the 75g. It is a bit sparse now, but like I said I am planning on adding some plants soon. Im still trying to figure out lights for the tank, I didn't realize how confusing lighting a planted tank can get! haha anyways heres what I have for now.

Looks good.

Looking good, and sorry I didn't know he was planning to add plants, so yea skip the SD's. But everything looks good, and yes you can keep all of that in there lol, just keep up with filtration and WC. Canister filters are better than HOB, something to keep in mind. kno4te is giving you all the advice you need though, I agree with him in all of it. So I won't repeat it lol.

No worries moe....never hurts to have additional information and input especially for new tanks and fish.
