Do u guys think i should vary what i feed him mix up his diet right now im feeding him cocktail shrimp squid and mysis shrimp?

when u say cocktail shrimp, is that the one that comes in a circle ready to eat? if it is that means its cooked ... don't feed them anything cooked: firstly it loses it nutritional value and secondly the oils that the cooking process produces in shrimp and various fish are harmful to Ur P.

Also don't forget P's eat vegetable matter in the wild, there diet is not "strictly" protein

really cooked shrimp is harmful to the piranha i didnt know that what kinds of food would u guys recommend besides shrimp and squid?

no fishes could be with a serrasalmus.. i got 2 pygocentrus nattereri they sometimes bite the pleco.. so..

shrimp, squid, fish filets (whitefish, ie, tilapia), scallops they are all good for piranhas, just make sure they are all raw

I don't know if it's bad for them per se, but it lacks nutritional value. It has more to do with the way the P's gastroinstestinal mucosa absorbs nutrients than it does with lipids. It's to be avoided, but eating it one time will probably not kill them. Generally though you don't want to feed anything to them they can't find in the wild unless it's a fish food designed for them.
