Tank next to window

How do you all prevent algae from blooming when the tank is close to the window? The only thing preventing me from getting my new 450 is it will be placed next to the bay window. It currently has a blue background on the back and both sides. I'd just hate to put it there and be fighting with algae all the time.

Well it would keep your water clear but wont help with the glass.

tank+window=algae explosion even just a couple days after cleaning. I am saying this from personal experience

i have my 75 right next to 2 windows. my tank is at a slant and on one side theres 3 windows and on the other side theres 2 windows and with the curtine i still get algea KINDA but its not bad tho

you should NEVER get a fish just for ONE perpose cause when that perpose is done what does the fish have to eat/do? so if he gets an pleco he should also get some algea disc for him to, and make sure its not a common either ( pleco )
