exactly what i said a few pages back. ya i think its always a good idea to be able to house a fish you purchase for you will never know when you hit financial difficulties or difficulties of another sort which would make acquiring the right tank for that fish more problematic than originally intended.

So true. This time last year I could have swung a tank purchase no problem. If I had to do it today I'd be in deep doo.

Did you forget about the amount for shipping?

No I mentioned the shipping. Like I said before, you can order more than two fish and the price of shipping is the same unless you really order a lot of fish. Remember that you can find people near you and arrange a group order. Or your LFS might deal with Rapps and order some fish for their store and put your order in as well. Check around and stop being negative. If you want a true wild caught Ecuadorian Festae, you can find a way to make it happen.

Lately financially, it seems those winds hit me and knocked me right up into sh** creek where I'm trying to get out but don't have a paddle.

But I'd still order from Rapps.

ya i would to but its a little diff when you live up north. igloos arent the best place to keep wc fish haha jk. it costs a buttload to get past fish and wildlife and ship all the way up here... that and i dont need $250 worth of fish before shipping at the moment haha.. but id stiil like to get a Rapps fish one day

~IMHO~

You would be fine for a while with a 90, but I would do it in a 125, again IMHO.

Would I pay that? Sure, I may not be the biggest fan of Jeff, but he is respected and I trust him. I have had fish from Jeff before and not been dissapointed. IMHO.

IMHO ~ It's all about who you trust and what you want, I would pay that in a second, Jeeze, If I could get fish from say Jeff, Mo, Don, FishFarm, Nick (Mo Knows.....) whoever, I would gladly pay that. It's a matter of what you want and what you can afford. In today's economy, it is a matter of what you can comfortably afford. As D-Train stated, you never know.

Also as stated, (If the $$ allow) I'd rather have few fish & tanks, (of high quality) from a trusted source, then many of questioned lineage.

Good Choice with Festae!

have any of you that are arguing the price ever bought f0 festae? These aren't bad prices, he could probably charge more and still sell them. Like fishguy said, go look in the buy/sell forum and then call these bad prices.

and why even bring shipping cost into the argument, way to argue about something totally out of his control.

I think if those two would have simply stated it, "I wouldn't pay that much for shipping", all this would have never went down like this. Sorry to the OP. You are going to love having a pair of Festae.

man i dont care about the price .the fish arnt ordered yet but he has had them on his list before this. my step broother has a 125 in his basement i am trying to get him to let go of. festea are a dream fish for me andw/c at that would give me a chubby. these fish to me rank right up there with beani with me and people pay 130 bucks a piece for those on ebay. so vi will order the fish as soon as i get the tank worked out
they will be keept divided. thanks for the imput but the question was never price

Look what I started.. Sorry Aphilophus for ruining your thread. I only said something because you didn't sound like you were too excited to spend $120 on two fish. I'm a big fan of buying stuff locally rather than spending top dollar + shipping. And if I do have to buy online and pay for shipping I always shop around for the best prices (hence the fact I never ordered from Rapps but I always have priced him.) I've never sacrificed quality either. I know Rapps has great stock and a good reputation but that doesn't mean everybody else is selling garbage fish. They sometimes even come from the same places Rapps gets his. Sometimes it's not worth it to get wild caught fish. As long as you're getting them from a reputable source f#'s shouldn't mean anything. I have bought many cool f1 fish locally for pennies
