Hello everyone,

im gonna buy a new tank soon. 125 gallons. I was thinking about these fish:
- Green Terror
- Oscar
- Jack Dempsey

I dont have any experience in keeping these fish. My current tank is a Malawi tank. So i have some questions.

- Is it possible to have two of these species together in my tank?

- If not, and I have to go for 1 species, how many of each fish can i take?

- I like the Oscar and the Green Terror alot. If its not possible to take them together in my tank, which other fish could be mixed with them?

I think one of each would be fine. I wouldn't add multiples of any of them though because there's the chance you could wind up with male/female and they would breed. that would cause problems.

Thx for your help guys. I know where to buy Oscars, though ill have a hard time to find a green terror and a jack dempsey. Ill have to call some shops to see if they can order them for me.

yeah they should be fine, GOOD LUCK with finding the GT and JD, and with these guys the males have way more color so definitely try and get males if you can, with oscars you cant really tell gender until they are breeding but they look the same and dont pair with anything else besides other oscars so i wouldnt worry about the gender of the O
 
Mature GTs and JDs (especially EBJD) are pure STUNNERS...

Just make sure you have some hiding spots for the fish if 1 or 2 become aggressive. Each fish will have its own personality so they vary. My GT is not too aggressive but he does boss around my cories from their food from time to time (grow out tank). You might want to think about getting them as juvies and keep them together. However, the Oscar WILL out grow the other 2. Also good filtration is a must with these fish.

Thx for the info guys! Found a GT, and Oscars, now just the JD.
In case I dont find a JD would a Heros severus or a Blue Acara work together with the oscar and gt?

And im indeed planning on getting them when they are small. I wanna see them grow up =)

About the filtration, how many gallons an hour should be pumped?
