Tank Setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The dempsey would be fine with them and the oscar gets VERY big so you will need atleast a 55 gallon. And you cant keep african and south/central cichlids together, Africans will kill them.
When dempseys and green terrors mature they are very beautiful fish. I suggest if your ordering a dempsey try your best to get a male. they look alot better. females just have the blue gill plate, while males have a very sparkley body.

This is a 125 gallon tank and I dont have any african cichlids in it.
The JD I have is a male.

Again some new pictures. I hope ill be able to get new lights next week. Depends if i get some xmas money from parents.

Do you guys think there will be alot of agression when the GT's start to mate?

New lighting and what a difference! Dont mind the particles in the water, its food. The oscar also looks white, because I just changed the lights, he got scared of the noise.

Thx! Do you think they will start a war in the tank when they are mating?

If the GTs mate then you may have some issues. Also, I'm pretty sure that JD is female. The males typically have lots of color on their entire body while the females are only on the gill plates. In fact most males do not have any blue on their lower gill plates. The coloring on your JD is almost identical to my female. I really like the dark stripes with the blue face.

Ok, the shop told me it was a male, i guess they were wrong!
How big is the chance the green terrors will form a couple? Because right now the male is chasing the female away all the time.

I have a 125g Jag, JD, Texas, Firemouth, 2 African Peacock Cichlids and they all do very well...except the JD hates the Texas

also i do have cloes to 100lbs of rock for hiding which IMO is the key to keeping everyone happy...give them all homes...cichlids are always going to fight to decide 'who is king' just have to make sure they all have somewhere to go out of sight when its over
