Screw the GT and get yourself a Red Devil! I saw one in the display tank at the LFS and fell in love! Talk about personality, this fish actually enjoys being teased. Makes my Oscars look tame in comparison. Someday, hopefully long from now, when my O's are gone, I'm going to get one Red Devil and dedicate my 125 just to him.

Altough i enjoy RD's i would never keep one as a solo specimen. Maybe a Midas but no RD. Also there is no comparing a RD to a GT......The GT has way more color and looks awesome when kept solitary...
If you want to go with a planted community tank you could go with a few german rams and other dwarf cichlids, a pim ornatus or other medium sized cat, and a nice pleco
